DIY website mistakes

Most DIY sites do not look broken. They just do not get the call.

The expensive mistakes are quiet: the offer is unclear, the number is below the fold on a phone, the form asks for too much, or the page takes too long to finish loading. Those are the same spots a free StonksGoUp assessment ranks first.

The list

Fixes that usually pay back first.

This is the same order we use on written assessments — not a 40-page audit. Comparing builders? See Wix vs hiring a designer.

01

The offer is a slogan

Visitors need what you do, who it is for, and whether you cover their job — not a stock headline. If they have to decode the homepage, they leave.

02

The phone is decorative

On a phone, the number and form have to be reachable without hunting. Click-to-call is the conversion path for service work, not a footer afterthought.

03

The page is slow on mobile

Most of the traffic is on a phone. Heavy sliders, uncompressed photos, and leftover builder widgets are where that traffic leaves. Compressing a homepage shot is the same idea as our own work images.

04

The form is a chore

Name, email, a URL or job, and an optional note is enough. Extra fields, captchas stacked on captchas, and “what matters most” quizzes are how inquiries die.

Questions

What to do with the list.

You can fix these yourself. If you would rather we rebuild it, the published price is $999 one time.

Do I need a new website to fix these?

Not always. An assessment will say whether it is a ten-minute change or real work. If the platform cannot support the changes, we will say that before anyone spends $999.

Is this the same as SEO?

Some of it is on-page setup. Hiding the offer and the phone loses leads even if you rank. Ongoing SEO is a separate $399 per month add-on on pricing.

What do you actually send back?

Three to five prioritized fixes, usually within two business days. No card, no required call. Send the site.

Can I keep my DIY site and just hire care?

Often. The $99 monthly care plan is for sites that already exist. We review the platform first.
